Katelyn & Quentin | Intimate Laconia Christmas Wedding

Katelyn & Quentin have attended the same church for quite some time, but had never really connected. I mean, they knew of each other, they just hadn’t spent any time together. Quentin spotted Katelyn from afar while she and her sisters were singing in church and thought to himself, “Wow! I really need to meet her!” Katelyn on the other hand didn’t really have any interest at first. Her younger brother was in a Sunday School class taught by Quentin and turned out to be the #realMVP of their love story. Every Sunday, Katelyn’s brother would come home and tell her how awesome his Sunday School teacher Quentin was- to the point that it almost became annoying. At the time, Katelyn was battling Lyme’s disease, so she didn’t go out much. Eventually, the two met and the rest (as they say) is history!

Their wedding day included some sweet personal touches like this gold necklace that belonged to Quentin’s grandmother. Katelyn also wore her mom’s wedding shoes! They weren’t quite the perfect fit, but she powered through ceremony in them for sake of sentiment!

Since she is Lyme free & recovering, Katelyn had a lot of time to plan out her big day. She also took the time to make just about everything herself! From her bouquet to the wedding cake, Katelyn’s fingerprints were evident literally everywhere you looked!

When Katelyn first reached out to me about shooting their wedding, I have to admit that I was reluctant of their wedding date. You see, their wedding date was exactly one week before our baby’s due date. Plus, this was our first baby so we had no idea if she would be early, on time, or late. But Katelyn was a bridesmaid in the first wedding I ever photographed, so I knew I wanted to make it work! Thankfully, my good friend, Madison agreed to be my backup in case we were in the hospital.

Honestly, I thought that our baby girl would be born late. My wife and her two siblings were born after their due dates, so I figured our baby would take after her mom. Welp, I was wrong! She was born 8 days before her due date, 1 day before Katelyn & Quentin’s wedding!! (For more about that, check out her birth story here.)Grateful could not even begin to describe how I felt about Madison’s willingness to jump in at a moment’s notice. She took all of these lovely photos and deserves the recognition! This wedding day was basically like a blind date for her! Thankfully, we had talked about all the details of the day beforehand. Madison is one of the best wedding photographers around, so I felt relieved knowing that Katelyn & Quentin were in good hands.
